Synopsis:

Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for… f7f90-addtogoodreads

MyThoughts

I don’t know why I didn’t read this sooner, man I missed out on a lot!!! So let me just say this out loud…

I am officially in love with Cam Hamilton.

That guy is a dream boat!!! He’s one of my favourite book boyfriends. Two thumbs up to JLA! I just hope that there will be a continuation of their story – can’t get enough of those two gaaaah!

I think that Avery is a very relatable main character. From the very beginning of the story, it was obvious that she went through something and all she wants is a clean, fresh start. She also doesn’t have the best relationship with her parents and it is evident that she wants to stay away from them for good. Avery is a strong, brave woman and I admire her very much for that. I saw her maturity throughout the novel and that’s not something you see in every story that you read.

It’s very refreshing to see that their relationship was not the typical ‘insta-love’ that most NA books are known for. You can see the development between the two characters and the struggles they went through – the pace was perfect for me! It’s like you are really part of their story and that makes you even more connected with Avery and Cam.

Speaking of… Cam. Cam. Cam. How do I even start with this one?! He is seriously the one of the coolest, sweetest, most awesome guys I have ever read about!! He knows how to bake wonderful cookies, he is a sucker for big brown eyes (woot woot, I have ‘em!), he is persistent but in a totally adorable kind of way and I bet that he can totally brighten up any person’s day by using his sexy sense of humor.

It is very obvious that Cam is into Avery, but because of her past, she knows she can’t do that with him. But he kept on trying. Every. Single. Day. Which makes him more adorable and swoon worthy! There were times when I kind of got frustrated with Avery for turning him down every time he tries to go out with her, but it was totally justified in the end when I found out about what really happened to her.

Even though the book’s main storyline is kind of dark, I love that JLA still found a way to lighten up the mood with Avery and Cam’s witty banter and harmless flirtation. And oh – I will never think of cookies the same way again because of you, Cam!

C: “Damn, if only you moved that fast for my cookies, I’d be a happy guy!
A: “Shut up!”
C: “Hey! Don’t you want to know what cookies is a code word for?”
A: “No! Good God, no!”

Wait for You is an incredible read that you shouldn’t miss! You’ll laugh, blush, swoon, be teary-eyed, laugh again and swoon again. And hey, imagining Cam and his six feet, three inches of hotness won’t hurt too. *winks*

Well, mostly. When she’s not hard at work writing, she spends her time, reading, working out, watching zombie movies, and pretending to write.
