Synopsis:

Love and Lists is the first book in the Chocolate Lovers spinoff – Chocoholics: The foul-mouthed offspring tell their stories.

Twenty-five-year-old Gavin Ellis has always had the love and support of his family ever since he was a little boy and couldn’t stop talking about his penis. He’s also always had their unsolicited advice and uncanny knack of embarrassing him at all costs. Now that he’s an adult and trying to convince the love of his life to love him back, things haven’t changed very much from when he was younger.

When Gavin’s best friend Tyler suggests he make a to-do list of items that will ensure he wins the girl, Gavin is one-hundred-percent on board: after a few six packs.

After puking in the shrubs, a bad experience with Viagra, a Sex-Ed course gone wrong, and a slew of other mishaps courtesy of his family and friends, Gavin is pretty sure this list will be the death of him.

Sometimes, trying to make someone love you with a list isn’t always the best idea. Especially when “Show her your penis” is the first “to-do” item…

My Thoughts

“I’m not a foul-mouthed, cute little kid anymore. I’m now a foul-mouthed, cute adult.” -Gavin

I was so stoked when I found out that there was a spinoff series for Sivec’s the Chocolate Lovers series and what made it more awesome is that Gavin, the adorable four-year old is now a twenty-five year old man. And boy, Gavin is sexy and well, drool-worthy. Six feet tall. Brown hair. Chocolate brown eyes. A dimple in each cheek. Gorgeous body. (He got it from his mama… and papa, woot woot!)

While reading Love and Lists, I realized that it was also like watching Gavin grow with Charlotte. I loved the flashbacks that the author included in some of the chapters. And well, the book has dual POVs!!!! Both from Gavin and Charlotte, and you will SURELY laugh your ass out while reading what’s going on in their crazy minds.  I AM NOT KIDDING, MOST OF MY KINDLE NOTES said “HAHAHAHAHAHA” or “HAHAHAHAHA *insert character name here*”.

I also love the fact that the minor characters also had their time to shine. Like Tyler…who always likes to be naked. WARNING: Tyler is as batshit crazy as Drew… or maybe EVEN WAAAAY CRAZIER than him.

“In what universe would my mother ever throw you a bone?”

“In Tylerverse. Where there are rivers of beer and naked chicks servicing me all over the land.”

That dude is insanely and ridiculously funny (so Tara, better start writing his story or WE will all go insane! LOL). Tyler was also the one who suggested Gavin to make a list on how to make Charlotte fall in love with him. Or as he called it “How To Make Charlotte Bang Me”.  Other characters you need to watch out for are Rocco and Ava!

I was also glad that the author gave us a glimpse of the life of the characters in the Chocolate Lovers series. There was Claire and Carter, Liz and Jim, and Drew and Jenny. Oh my goodness gracious, Jenny is still as crazy and as hilarious as before. And grandpa too!!! In this book, he did something really epic and unforgettable!

I honestly thought that Gavin would be a ladies’ man and a women magnet, but I loved that Sivec portrayed him as someone who is inexperienced, sometimes immature, but still that equally adorable and funny kid that we all used to love. I also noticed the similarities of Carter and Drew’s friendship with Gavin and Tyler’s. Even though both Drew and Tyler are extremely and out of this world crazy, they still manage to fit in perfectly with the whole family.

As for Charlotte’s character, I can’t really say much because I’m afraid I might spoil things for you, but she is Liz’s daughter for freak’s sake! Of course she is as feisty as her mother.

“I am going to reach down your throat and rip out your ovaries, you fat cow!” – Charlotte

When it was time for Charlotte’s POV, I got even MORE excited about it. Because I finally understood the both of them and why they should REALLY be together. I mean, of course, I was rooting for them, but reading it from Charlotte’s side made it more personal, which in effect, made me more connected to her character. Plus Love and Lists still shows the deep relationship of each and every one of the characters with each other, which makes it even more awesome. How I wish I could be a part of their family and bring them MY version of crazy. I would LOVE to be a part of this insane bunch.

In Love and Lists, Tara Sivec takes you to an unforgettably wild ride that you will certainly take pleasure in! Crazily sexy! Insanely funny! “Love and lists. Just remember, love and lists. Nothing else matters.”

PS: If you don’t think Tara Sivec is hilarious… well then, you can suck it. HA!
